MailChats App – Privacy Details

This document supplements the CrevoLabs Privacy Policy and describes the data practices specific to the MailChats mobile application.

1. What MailChats Does

MailChats allows you to connect your Google or Microsoft email account to view selected conversations in a chat-like format. MailChats processes email content locally on your device and does not store your emails on CrevoLabs servers.

2. Data Access and Processing

• Account Information: When you sign in using Google or Microsoft, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture. This information is stored on our servers to create and manage your MailChats account.
• Email Access: With your consent, MailChats securely connects to your email account using OAuth. We only scan emails where selected contact addresses appear in the To, From, CC, or BCC fields.
• Message Content: Messages are processed locally to remove signatures, extract replies, and display them in a readable format. Full message bodies are never uploaded.
• Attachments: Attachments are downloaded only when you request them. They remain stored locally and are not transmitted to our servers.

3. What MailChats Stores

• Stored on CrevoLabs Servers: Your email address, name, profile picture URL, device ID, and minimal sync metadata required for account management.
• Stored Locally on Device: Parsed message content, sync timestamps, attachment metadata, downloaded attachments.
• Never Stored: Raw email content, OAuth tokens, message bodies, or attachments on CrevoLabs servers.

4. Third-Party Services

MailChats uses the following services:

• Google OAuth & Microsoft Identity – for secure sign-in and email access
• Firebase Cloud Messaging – optional notifications
• CrevoLabs microservices – for tasks such as signature removal and reply extraction. These services do not store or retain email content.

5. Consent and Control

• Before sign-in, MailChats presents a consent screen explaining what data is accessed and how it will be used.
• You can revoke Gmail or Outlook access at any time through Google/Microsoft account settings.
• You may delete all local MailChats data by uninstalling the app.

6. Security

All processing and transmission are encrypted. Email data remains on your device unless explicitly downloaded at your request.
